Trade Fairs/Events: “Sharing a Vision” – First Joint Customer Event by Dillinger and Saarstahl

Under radiant sunshine and in high spirits, customers, partners, and employees experienced an unforgettable day focused on the future of steel on September 10.

On September 10, 2025, the time had finally come: Dillinger and Saarstahl hosted their first joint customer event, “Sharing a Vision of Sustainable Steel”, in Dillingen.
Under ideal conditions, numerous international guests from the steel industry came together to exchange ideas on current developments, future prospects, and shared challenges.

The diverse program featured engaging expert presentations, inspiring discussions, and exclusive insights into production. A particular highlight was the tour of the Power4Steel project—Europe’s largest decarbonization initiative in the steel industry.

The keynote speeches by renowned experts were especially impressive, offering different perspectives on the future of the steel industry:

• Dr. Michael Bott, Director of Decarbonization at SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar, provided fascinating insights into the transformation of the steel industry with his talk “Europe’s Leading Transformation Project in the Steel Industry.”
• Dr. Michael Schäfer, Head of AI & Digitalization at SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar, took the audience on a journey through time with his presentation “AI-powered Steel Production: Then – Now – Forever,” showcasing how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing steel production.
• Sven Gabor Janszky, futurist and keynote speaker, captivated the audience with his visionary talk “2035 – The Future Has Already Begun,” which inspired reflection and forward thinking.

In addition to the content-rich sessions, the event offered ample opportunities for personal exchange and networking. The evening gala dinner provided a relaxed setting to continue conversations—a perfect conclusion to a successful day.

“With this event, we wanted to show that we are excellently positioned to meet the demands of the future—together with our customers and partners,” said the executive board in their evening address.
