Helping where it is needed: Dillinger supports the work of local Tafel food bank

Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke (Dillinger) is continuing its support of the Tafel food bank in Dillingen with a donation of EUR 5,000. The donation will be used to equip suitable new facilities for the food bank in the center of Dillingen and to supply people in need with non-perishable food.

“The Dillinger Tafel now supplies food to around 300 families, or around 1,000 people. The rise in consumer prices means that many people are increasingly unable to support themselves,” explains Joachim Dorkel, head of the Dillinger Tafel. “We believe that many people are still hesitating to ask for help and we can only encourage them to contact the responsible authorities.”

As a company with a long history and tradition, supporting the local food bank is a high priority for Dillinger. “We are delighted to contribute to the work of the Tafel food bank with our EUR 5,000 donation,” said Juliane Wernet, Press and Corporate Communications at Dillinger. “We would like to thank the Dillinger Tafel for their strong commitment. The tireless efforts and compassion of the volunteers make a difference in the lives of many people.”

The Dillinger Tafel supports a large number of people in need in the Dillingen area with food. Grocery stores mainly provide fruit, vegetables and other fresh produce for weekly distribution to the food bank’s customers, but few shelf-stable goods. The food bank is open each week on Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m. in the former post office building in Dillingen (De-Lenoncourt-Straße 2, Dillingen).
