Heavy plate for hydropower engineering

Penstock lines, bifurcations and spiral turbine casings – whatever the steel components you need for your hydropower plant, Dillinger will supply exactly the right heavy plate for it: in thicknesses up to above 200 millimetres, easy to work and weld, and with optimum durability.

Dillinger’s strengths in hydropower engineering

  • Despite their yield strengths of up to 690 MPa, our DI-MC and DILLIMAX thermomechanically rolled fine-grained structural steels possess outstanding toughness, resistance to brittle fracture and weldability.
  • DILLIMAX high-strength quenched and tempered fine-grained structural steels are much stronger still –  with yield strengths of up to 690 MPa. Thanks to their optimised chemical composition, they are, nonetheless, extremely tough and easy to work and weld.
  • We can meet practically all conceivable additional specification requirements.
  • Dillinger plates can be supplied in bigger-than-average formats and dimensions, enabling you to fabricate even the largest components cost-efficiently.
  • Dillinger is a qualified producer with global references, a fact acknowledged by all important decision-makers.
  • We know from experience which components are needed in hydropower engineering, and we can semi-fabricate your heavy plate to meet your requirements if you wish – in the form, for example, of longitudinally welded pipe segments, edge-machined plates, flame-cut parts for turbine stay rings, or of sickle plates with improved deformation properties in the thickness direction.
