Offshore Installations
Heavy plate for Offshore Installations
Whether in the North Sea, in the Gulf of Mexico, or in chilly Arctic climes – offshore oil and gas production makes maximum demands on man and material. This is why Dillinger is one of the world’s leading suppliers of technologically sophisticated heavy plate and components made from it.
Dillinger’s strengths in Offshore Installations
- Our decades-long focus on our heavy-plate product, combined with ultra-modern technologies and production processes, results in out-of-the-ordinary steels of constant high quality – and exactly right for even the most demanding project specifications.
- Our heavy plate, with tailor-made property profiles in even the largest dimensions and item weights, opens up new design perspectives for you, and reduces welding needs. Preconditions therefore are continuous-cast slabs up to 600 mm thickness or cast ingots for very thick plates. The powerful Dillinger rolling stands roll those slabs and ingots with extremely high reduction ratios.
- We can supply heavy plate that conforms to all widely applied standards, including EN 10225-1, NORSOK and API, combined if necessary with additional individual specifications. Plates from Dillinger can be supplied as “pre-qualified” material if required. We possess approval by classification societies such as ABS and DNV for a large number of our steels. The range extends from normalised and thermomechanically rolled steels up to and including water-quenched and tempered grades. Thermomechanically rolled plate up to 500 MPa yield-strength class is produced in thicknesses up to 120 mm, and quenched and tempered steels in the 690 MPa yield-strength class in thicknesses up to 255 mm.
- A team of specialists with extensive project experience will support your project from start to finish. We also provide pre-project advice on cost- and work-optimised design – for both the selection and the processing and working of your steels. On-time performance and delivery is our top priority – and this is why you always have a contact for every eventuality.
