Our DIFENDER special steel is your best choice when you need to meet ultra-high security requirements with the minimum of weight. DIFENDER protects civilian and military armoured land vehicles and water craft, cash transporters and buildings against ballistic and explosive attack.
DIFENDER offers:
- excellent resistance against bullet, blast waves impact and splittering in combination with high hardness, strength and low weight
- large product range with narrow hardness gradation like 270, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 550 and 600 HBW
- quality for warm press hardening such as DIFENDER 600 PH
- good impact values (longitudinal and transverse) at -40 °C
- thickenesses up to 150 mm
- thickness tolerances: -0/+0.8 mm
- restricted flatness tolerances acc. tab. 5 EN 10029
- specific testing on mother plate with 3.1 material test report
- very good processing properties
- approvals i.e. according to the German Army standard TL 2350-0000
