DIMO
The perfect steel for plastics moulds
High polishability and geometrical stability, good machinability and suitability for eroding-based surface texturing make DIMO proprietary steels the first choice for plastics mould-making – from applications involving ultra-high surface requirements, up to and including mould holders and accessories. The DIMO production route is consistently orientated around low proneness to distortion during automated processing.
The strengths of DIMO proprietary steel
- DIMO 2311 and DIMO 42M steels are the ideal solution for plastics moulds with high surface specifications. The chromium-, manganese- and molybdenum-alloyed steels are supplied in quenched and tempered state.
- DIMO 2312 is additionally alloyed with sulphur, in order to improve machinability. This steel is therefore suitable for automated production of plastics moulds with lower surface specifications, and also of mould-holder components.
- DIMO 42H is a steel specially developed for the production of mould-holders and accessories, such as bottom plates, chases and mould tops.
- DIMO C45 and DIMO C55 non-alloy steels are an especially cost-efficient solution for standardised components and mould-accessories, such as chases, ejector plates, slats and clamping plates.
