Weathering resistant, easy to work and weld

A decision to use weathering resistant steel generates valuable benefits for maintenance and durability. Use of such steels is even more cost efficient if they also possess excellent workability and weldability.

The strengths of DIWETEN proprietary steel

  • DIWETEN is our weathering resistant proprietary steel in accordance with EN 10025-5, whose processing properties have been optimized, especially with regard to weldability.
  • There is one medium strength class, DIWETEN 355, plus the extra high strength variant, DIWETEN 460+M.
  • The grades 355 and 460 are available in TM (thermomechanical rolling) delivery condition, as DIWETEN 355+M and DIWETEN 460+M.
  • The thermomechanical rolling process used for DIWETEN 460+M allows it to combine no less than three outstanding properties: extra high strength + resistance to atmospheric corrosion + extremely good weldability.
  • DIWETEN’s special aesthetic appeal also inspires well-known sculptors, including America’s Richard Serra, who has his steel sculptures produced in this material.
