Award-winning sustainability management: another EcoVadis gold for Dillinger
EcoVadis, the world’s largest provider of corporate social responsibility ratings, has again awarded its gold medal to Dillinger’s sustainability strategy. The company achieved an “excellent” 86 points in the environment category and improved its overall score by three points to a total 77 points. This puts the Saarland-based steel manufacturer in the top three percent of companies rated by EcoVadis in the “Production of hot metal and steel” category. The recertification is valid until August 2026.
“As a global company, we are conscious of our responsibility for the environment and for future generations,” said Dr. Peter Maagh, Member of the Executive Board for Technology and Production at Dillinger. “This makes sustainability an important part of our corporate policy, with its implementation ranging from sustainable procurement to reducing emissions in production processes. Renewal of this distinction from EcoVadis validates the path we are taking to low-carbon steel production.”
Recertification sends a strong signal to stakeholders
“Recertification is a big achievement for the company, but it’s also a strong signal to our stakeholders that Dillinger is consistently continuing on its path to climate neutrality. This gives our customers and suppliers a reliable and robust basis for evaluating our sustainability management,” Dr. Maagh explains.
The EcoVadis rating is based on a defined scorecard. It includes criteria of the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and the International Organization for Standardization for the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Specification of defined evaluation criteria enables companies certified by EcoVadis to be compared internationally.
