Helping where it’s needed: Dillinger donates EUR 5,000 to the Tafel food bank
With the donation of EUR 5,000 for the local Tafel food bank, Dillinger continues to fulfill its social commitment to the region. The donation helps the Dillingen Tafel supply those in need with non-perishable food.
“Supporting the Tafel in Dillingen is a tradition for our company,” said Juliane Wernet from Dillinger Communications. “In light of rising food prices, we are especially eager to support the work of the Tafel food bank here in Dillingen with a donation of nonperishable food. This help goes directly to the recipients of the food bank – right where it’s most needed.”
The Dillinger Tafel currently supplies almost 300 families and thus a large number of needy people in the Dillingen area with food. Food is given out each week on Fridays on the premises of the former Krüger print shop in Dillingen.
Retailers primarily provide the food banks with fruit and vegetables and other fresh produce, dairy products and sweets. Because staple foods like rice and pasta have a longer shelf life they are less likely to be donated, so food banks are often lacking these items. The donation from Dillinger for nonperishable foods helps enable the Tafel food bank in Dillingen to offer their shoppers a balanced supply of foods.
