Dillinger heavy plate for the
suspension bridge Dalsfjord

Bridge forms longed for connection

The inhabitants of the province Sogn og Fjordane in Norway had to be patient for many years, but now on the 14th of December 2013 finally the Dalsfjord suspension bridge near Dale was officially inaugurated. The demand for a street connection between Askvoll on the northshore of Dalsfjorden and Dale arose already in the 60’s. Supported by a collection of signatures the constructional work for the access roads started 1975. But the work stopped 1979 again, since the capital was required in other infrastructure projects. It wasn’t until 2010 that the work for the unfinished access roads restarted and the construction of the bridge, as centerpiece of the whole overcrossing could begin. The impressive suspension bridge, which was completed summer 2013, has a span of 523 m and the height of the Tower is 101 m.

Dillinger delivered for this spectacular construction circa 1,700 t heavy plates in grades S355N/NL and thicknesses up to 100 m.
